Animatic of Story Board

Image
For this task, I used final cut pro to produce an animatic of our story board and shots for our music video. We did this task as it shows a clear image of the different shots we will be using and what they will look like. We also added our song in the background for the animatic and made sure each shot fitted in with the correct bit of music. This task is helpful as when it comes to filming, we will know know where everything fits correctly.

Story Board

Image
For this task, my group and I created a story board for our music video. This tells us what type of shot we will be doing e.g high angle, as well as this what the shot will look like and how many seconds it will be. We drew out each shot and decided what we wanted it to look like in the video. This task will help me in the future as it will make our filming a lot easier, as we will know everything we are doing so when it comes to filming we will be very prepared, therefore we will not get confused when it comes to filming.

Shot by Shot

Image
This is my shot by shot task, this tells us exactly what is shot taken and how long it is going to be as well as what kind of shot its going to be. This will be very helpful as when it comes to filming our video, we will know how many shots need to be done in each location e.g the forest and pond. By doing this, we won't have to repeat anything or go back to the same location. This task will help me in the future as I will know to always to make shot by shot lists as it makes the final production easier to do as we will be familiar with where everything needs to be shot, the number of shots and the different angles etc.

Amended treatment

After receiving more feedback from our target audience, our group realised that our original idea was not going to work as well as we thought it would. After receiving this feedback we had a group meeting to discuss the changes we were going to apply to our music video, we decided to change our narrative from conceptual to performance based. We did this because our original ideas were not conventional to the hip-hop genre and wasn't going to appeal to our target audience, as well as this the shots were going to be very difficult to film and we wanted to make sure our music video could be the best to our potential. Therefore, we changed our ideas and decided to make our music video more conventional so it would fit the needs of our target audience. In order to do this we had to make a new shot by shot list, storyboard and animatic which is shown on my other tasks.

Institution Permission

Image
For this task, we emailed the record label company to ask for their permission to use J.cole songs 'Change' for our music video.

Animal Beat

Image
For this task, I was given different footage clips of animal videos and different options of music. I chose the song that best fitted the clips and then cut each video the fit the beat of my song. I used final cut to edit my video, which will help me when editing my final music video as I will be more experienced with how to use the different tools.

Character Profile

For this task I created a character profile on Piktochart of my main male character.

Cutting to the beat

Image
For this task I used final cut to edit my cutting to the beat video, I used the spongebob theme song and the hannah montana opening credits. By doing this, it allowed me to further my knowledge with final cut as I learned how to use different tools such as the blade. It has also helped me, as when it comes to editing my final music video I will find be more familiar with the different tools and making sure the visuals match to the lyrics.

Lip Syncing

Image
For this task, one of my group members lip synced our chosen song for our music video. This task helped me and my group to practice lip syncing, and we realised how hard it is to get the lip movement exactly in time with the song. I edited this video on Final Cut, which widened my skills as I used different effects.
